Last week, it was revealed that Platinum Games’ president, Tatsuya Minami, has stepped down from his position. In response to an email from Polygon, Platinum Games confirmed that Minami is no longer president and that he has been replaced by Kenichi Sato. The representative from Platinum Games said that this has created an opportunity to reform their internal structure and strengthen their position as a developer.

Here’s the full quote:

“As you may or may not know, this year is our 10th anniversary. We feel this is the perfect opportunity to reform our internal structure in order to strengthen our position as a developer, and changes in personnel affairs are a natural part of that.” — Platinum Games

Kenichi Sato also released a statement and said the changes “in no way affects our dedication to our craft” and Platinum Games will continue to “create games to the same high standards that our partners and fans have come to expect from us.”
