The Xbox One has some features that the PlayStation 4 has been seriously lacking since launch day, among which is the ability to use an external hard drive to expand your memory. However, Sony is looking to fix this issue soon with a new software update, supporting hard drives up to 8 TB in size. This feature will release alongside version 4.50, codenamed “Sasuke.”
In addition to external HDD support, Sony will be adding the ability to use your own in-game screenshots as the picture of your home menu. You can edit these images in the Sharefactory app to customize your favorite picture to your liking. The quick menu is also going to take up less of the screen and will allow you to customize party chats without closing or suspending your game software. The new update will let PlayStation VR users watch 3D Blu-Rays in stereoscopic 3D as well.
An additional “boost mode” will also be added to PlayStation 4 Pro systems. This will allow games that were released before the upgraded console came out to push higher frame rates and have an overall better performance. So, if you are a PlayStation 4 Pro owner, you’ll have a lot to look forward to with the upcoming 4.50 update.
