NWC: Pokémon Sun and Moon’s New “Poké Finder” Feature Could Be a Way to Replace Pokémon Snap 2

0

Recently The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon Sun and Moon introduce a new feature called “Poké Finder,” which lets you photograph various Pokémon in designated locations throughout Alola.

This was one of the talking points on
a recent episode of Nintendo Week, our Nintendo-themed podcast here at Gamnesia, and we ponder whether it means the highly-sought sequel to Pokémon Snap could ever see the light of day. Check out the discussion video above for our full thoughts, or keep reading below for a brief, brief summary.

Alex questions why they’d introduce this feature in a Nintendo 3DS game in the first place, instead of waiting until a crisper
Pokémon game on a console with better resolution than 240p. But Ben thinks this feature is Game Freak’s way of pacifying (or perhaps attracting) fans clamoring for a successor to the Nintendo 64’s beloved photography game, Pokémon Snap, as Nintendo may never intend to release a new Snap game.
