The second generation of Pokémon is among the most beloved by fans, and it has seen tons of love from Nintendo in the past few years. Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver were remastered in 2009 for the Nintendo DS, and earlier this year, the two were re-released for the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console. The third game in the series, Pokémon Crystal, hasn’t been given nearly as much attention, and the only version available to this day is the original 2001 Game Boy Color release. That’s all about the change, though, as Nintendo has just announced that the game will be coming to the 3DS Virtual Console next year.

Along with the Virtual Console version, the game will be getting a boxed release in Japan and Europe. Both will be released on January 26th, 2018. You can watch the trailer for the Virtual Console release above!

What do you guys think? Do you like Pokémon Crystal, and does another Pokémon title deserve a re-release as well? Let us know in the comments below!
