Pokémon GO players finally got their chance to catch legendary Pokémon after Pokémon GO Fest in Chicago, with both Lugia and Articuno appearing during the event. Niantic later confirmed that Zapdos and Moltres would be on the way soon as well, and now they’ve announced the dates that these rarest of Pokémon will become available. However, they also revealed a caveat: all three of the Legendary Birds will only spawn for a limited time.
Each of these birds will be available for a week at a time. With Articuno’s window already started, it will stick around until the end of the month, disappearing on July 31st. Moltres will then replace Articuno in the raid battles until Monday, August 7th, and Zapdos can be caught from that date through August 14th. Fortunately, no time limit was mentioned for Lugia, so it should continue to be available in raid battles after these dates.
Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno will only be available for a short period of time, so if you desire to complete your mobile Pokédex, you should start now. Are you disappointed that the Legendary Birds, the mascots for the
Pokémon GO teams, will only be available for these short periods at a time, at least initially? Or are you just excited to have the opportunity to add these legends to your collection? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
