Pokémon GO launched with the ability to track wild Pokémon, but it proved to be glitchy and developer Niantic later removed it. The app went several months without any tracking features, but Niantic has since created the new “Nearby Pokémon” feature, and they’ve slowly been rolling it out in more territories around the world.
If the feature hasn’t been available in your area up until now, you might want to check again. Niantic has just announced that the Nearby Pokémon feature is now available almost everywhere.
