Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are currently holding a presentation in Japan, and they’ve just made the first of several announcements. Pokémon Quest is a new game for Nintendo Switch as well as smart devices… and it’s out tonight! In this game, Pokémon that originated in Kanto are headed to a new region, and they’ve got a new, cube-like (dare I say Minecraftian?) appearance.
Pokémon Quest is set on the mysterious Tumblecube Island, which is known to be filled with hidden treasures and special items. It’s a free-to-play adventure that lets you specialize your Pokémon by picking their characteristics, then upgrading them with Power Stones. You’ll explore Tumblecube Island in teams of three battling wild Pokémon, gathering treasure, and befriending new Pokémon.
You can download the Switch version right tonight on the eShop, and the mobile version will release at the end of June.
