Nintendo has high hopes for Pokémon Sun and Moon, as evidenced by the fact that they shipped out 10 million copies at launch, breaking a previous 3DS record. Early sales numbers are starting to come in, and Sun and Moon‘s sales appear to be pretty much in line with the previous main series entries. Popular Japanese publication Famitsu reports Sun and Moon‘s launch sales (first three days) at 1,905,107 units. This is slightly down from X and Y, which sold approximately 2.096 million copies in the first three days. These sales only represent Japan, and they do not include digital downloads.
