We’re only a few weeks away from the launch of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, so new details for the titles will start to pop up more frequently. Most recently, producer Shigeru Ohmori and director Kazumasa Iwao shared a ton of details regarding the games’ story, saying “the addition of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon should about double the current story volume for the Sun & Moon generation.”

The new games are confirmed to not be sequels, but rather an expansion of the original story. It’s said to have “a little divergence” from the previous titles. The new plot will focus primarily on the Ultra Expedition Team, who arrived in Alola through an Ultra Wormhole.

Speaking of Ultra Wormholes, the post-game of Ultra Sun and Moon will have players leaping between other worlds, including at least one that has now been revealed to allow players to catch legendary Pokémon, such as Mewtwo. Game Freak didn’t give away any more details about it, but they did compare it to the additions that Pokémon Platinum brought to the Diamond and Pearl universe.

Writing is half of my life. Video games make up the other half. I decided to put these two hobbies together and join Gamnesia back in 2015. I spend most of my time working at a retail store and paying off my student debt. When I'm not getting stressed about the thousands of dollars I owe my loan providers, I play tons of video games (which just puts me into more debt). I'm also currently writing a novel in what little spare time I have. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a while, but I don't want to talk about it until I have most of it completed. Any Gamnesia-related inquiries may be sent to [email protected] Feel free to follow my personal Twitter if you want (@Pindlo). I mostly just retweet things.
