Ubisoft executive director Alain Corre discussed the possibility of Rayman Legends receiving a Nintendo 3DS in an interview with CVG.

Rayman Legends is a platformer game originally planned to be released exclusively for the Nintendo Wii U, but has also released on PCs (Windows), PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox 360. The sequel to Rayman Origins was well-received and ranked highly in the hearts of platformer lovers.

CVG talked to Corre about Ubisoft’s next gen plans and brought up Rayman Legends. When asked why Ubisoft decided not to follow in the footsteps of previous Wii U titles and release also for the 3DS, Corre replied:

“When you look at Rayman Legends you see it’s a very big game with a lot of levels. The graphics in 2D are also second-to-none. So, it takes time to squeeze everything and downsize it onto other formats. But we’re not ruling anything out for that format. We can’t say anything more for the moment, but we can’t rule the format out.”

After recently beating Rayman Origins and getting to play Rayman Legends over a friend’s house, I can honestly say that having the sequel for Nintendo 3DS would be beyond-this-world great.
