If you’re anything like me, you were anxiously awaiting the release of Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 this fall. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to delve into it. Rockstar announced this afternoon that the next entry in the open-world Western has been delayed until Spring 2018. Though this is bad news, Rockstar has tried to soften the blow by promising more information this summer.

Regarding the delay, Rockstar stated, “We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready.” Since the game is being built from the ground up to support the current generation of consoles, they wanted to take some extra time to make sure they delivered the best possible product.

To tide us over until we get more information, Rockstar released a small handful of new screenshots, which you can find in the gallery below. I think these screenshots are absolutely stunning, so much so, that they make me even more anxious to get my hands on the game!

Are you looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2? What do you think of the newly released screenshots? Let us know!
