Red Dead Redemption is often lauded as one of the best games of the last generation, so it’s no surprise that fans have been asking Microsoft to make it a backwards compatible title for Xbox One ever since the BC program was announced. Fortunately, it looks like those fans are finally getting their wish. Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb sent out a tweet this morning officially confirming that Rockstar Games’ enormous adventure is coming to Xbox One this Friday, July 8th.
As always, anyone who owns the game for Xbox 360 will be able to access the backwards compatibility version free of charge, and those who don’t will be able to purchase the game from the Xbox One store. The title is a fan favorite for many, and it’s great that more people will be able to experience it now! For those of us who have already played it or don’t have an Xbox One, though, we can still keep hoping that those
rumors of a sequel start bearing fruit.
You can check out Major Nelson’s tweet below. Are you excited to finally see this game becoming backwards compatible? Did you enjoy RDR, or will you be taking this chance to play it for the first time? Let us know in the comments!
