Many old-school gamers will remember Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse for the Sega Genesis, a game which captured players’, and critics’, hearts. Back in April, a 2.5D remake of this classic title was confirmed to be coming to many current generation consoles, with the game slated to have a “summer” release. Recently, the Sega Blog was updated with information about the game’s release, revealing the release date, the price, and special bonuses for those who pre-order from the PlayStation Network.
The game, which is simply titled Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, will be released worldwide for digital download on September 3, 2013 for PlayStation Network, on September 4th for Xbox LIVE Arcade, and for PC digital download for $14.99USD/£ 9.99/€14.99/1200 Microsoft Points. So it seems that the PlayStation version would be the one to get, if you are picking between consoles. Those are definitely nice little bonuses to be thrown in. It definitely looks like it is going to be a remake done right.
