Over the past few days, millions of players have been enjoying the scares and thrills of Raccoon City in the remake of Resident Evil 2. The re-imagined survival-horror classic launched to stellar reviews and strong sales, which naturally has fans of the classics asking if Resident Evil 3 will follow in its bloody footsteps and receive a remake of its own.

Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi tackled this question in a recent interview, and there are plenty of reasons for fans to get excited. While he stopped well short of confirming any concrete plans, Hirabayashi indicated that the constant requests from fans are what brought the Resident Evil 2 remake to life. If the same continues to happen for Resident Evil 3, Capcom will take it into consideration.

You know what to do, horror fans! So far the latest adventure in Raccoon City looks to be a success for Capcom both commercially and critically. If you want to see the same happen for Resident Evil 3, make some noise! Besides, if the trend goes on long enough, I’ll finally get the from-the-ground-up remake of Resident Evil 4 that I crave so desperately.
