The gaming world exploded last year when it was revealed that P.T. was actually a playable teaser for Silent Hills, a new Silent Hill game starring Norman Reedus and directed by both Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro. Unfortunately, the game was recently cancelled, and P.T. was pulled from the PlayStation Store. However, Rooster Teeth’s video game news show The Know says that according to a trusted source (a source that leaked the Kinect-free Xbox One previously), Microsoft plans to acquire the game and re-introduce it at E3.
The Know reports that
Silent Hills was actually around 80% complete when it was cancelled, and if Microsoft can acquire the IP before E3, it will be reintroduced as an Xbox One exclusive with a release target of March, 2016. The deal for the IP is reportedly in the billions of dollars. Additionally, it is reported that Sony pulling P.T. from the online store was a prerequisite for Microsoft to purchase the IP.
Rooster Teeth is extremely confident in their source, but we’d advise you to take this story with a grain of salt. With E3 just around the corner, hopefully we’ll have the truth soon.
