Ever since the next-generation consoles were announced, people and companies across the US have been trying to guess their release dates. There has been no official confirmation about the release date for either console, but some pretty big names are starting to list exact dates for release, a phenomena which is capturing the attention of the gaming world.
Last week, the huge European retailer Media Markt listed that the PlayStation 4 would be released on November 13th. Media Markt is one of the largest retailers in Europe, so this listing is calling up a lot of attention. The same goes for the posting of the Xbox One release date by Amazon, who claims that the console will release on November 27th, which is the Wednesday right before Thanksgiving and, more importantly to Microsoft, Black Friday.
Both of these dates fall in the companies’ given timelines (the ever-ambiguous Fall and Winter seasons), but they are far from officially confirmed. It seems like a two-week wait for Microsoft after the release of the PlayStation 4 would be odd, but these could nevertheless be the real dates. We will just have to wait and see in the coming months.
What do you think? Do you want these consoles to release sooner as opposed to later? Or are you going to sit this generation out for awhile?
