Rayman Legends is something of a controversial game for Nintendo fans. The platformer was originally announced as a Wii U launch title and exclusive, but it ended up being neither. After multiple delays, Legends launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 alongside Wii U, and it later came to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Vita, and PC as well. If the latest rumblings from the rumor mill prove to be true, it’s coming to yet another platform later this year, but this time Nintendo fans should be happy to hear it.
According to Laura Kate Dale of Let’s Play Video Game (a writer with a knack for Switch leaks in recent months), Rayman Legends is coming to Nintendo Switch. Dale claims that the latest port of the popular game will be announced during the Nintendo Switch presentation on January 12th, and it’s planned as a Q2 release.
Dale went on to share a few updates regarding other Ubisoft games she leaked in the past. Dale previously claimed that Nintendo and Ubisoft are teaming up for a Mario & Rabbids crossover RPG, and she has since heard that its title is “Rabbids Kingdom Battle.” Nintendo and Ubisoft were aiming for a launch release, but Dale has heard that it could be pushed back to September. Additionally, Dale says the next Beyond Good & Evil game (which she claims will be closer to a reboot than a true sequel) is expected to be Switch exclusive for twelve months, after which it will release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
As usual, this information is not confirmed by Nintendo at this time, and we advise you to take all rumors with a healthy dose of skepticism. That said, Dale has sources at Nintendo and Ubisoft who have accurately leaked details such as when the Switch reveal would take place, the content of the reveal, Switch’s use of cartridges, the look of the portable device, and more.
