Retro Studios, a North American studio owned by Nintendo, is best known for revitalizing Nintendo’s Metroid and Donkey Kong Country series. However, according to a new rumor from Emily Rogers, the studio’s latest title will not be a new entry in either of these franchises. The latest rumor from Rogers states that Retro’s new game will be released on the NX in 2017, and that the game will not be a new Metroid or Donkey Kong Country game. She later added that the game also will not be a sequel to Diddy Kong Racing, and that her sources are indicating that the title could be a brand new IP.
Rumor part 2: Not Diddy Kong Racing 2 either. It sounds more like a new IP.
