Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is off to a phenomenal start with outstanding review scores and record-breaking sales numbers, and Nintendo is just getting started. Future updates will add in new fighters, stages, Mii costumes, and more. Nintendo hasn’t yet revealed when we can expect this content to roll out, but according to the latest buzz from the rumor mill, the first big update might be just around the corner.
This tantalizing tidbit comes via a data miner who goes by SnowmealDome. After digging around in the Smash server, they discovered data indicating that a Version 2.0.0 update is coming sometime next week. They haven’t unearthed any details regarding the content of this update, but we can speculate.
Nintendo previously indicated that they were targeting a February release for the free Piranha Plant DLC, so it would make sense for the new fighter to be included in this update. It’s also probable that we’ll see some slight adjustments made to some of the fighters in order to balance things out.
