So far this generation Nintendo has already created remakes of Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, and Majora’s Mask, and there might be one more Zelda remake on the way. NWPlayer123, a data miner who has previously leaked news about Splatoon and Super Mario Maker, tweeted out a conversation with another data miner that says that a title ID has surfaced on the Wii U eShop listing “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.” The listing was accompanied by the image seen to your left.
Nintendo executives have previously stated that future
Zelda remakes are possible, and that the next one will likely be based on fan demand, which makes Twilight Princess a perfect fit, as only Ocarina of Time has sold more copies. It’s also possible that Twilight Princess is just getting a digital re-release like the Metroid Prime Trilogy or Super Mario Galaxy 2, but that doesn’t really explain why it would be listed as HD. We’ll be on the lookout for an announcement from Nintendo!
