Back in January, Nintendo revealed a ton of games that were being developed for the Nintendo Switch. Among these was an untitled game in the Shin Megami Tensei series. At the time, many fans speculated it could be the fifth main installment in the series. Now Atlus has confirmed these theories by announcing Shin Megami Tensei V exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

A trailer for the game was also uploaded, showing off the post-apocalyptic world we’ve come to love from the series. The game is being developed with stunning visuals in Unreal Engine 4. Unfortunately, no gameplay or major story details were shown. You can check out the teaser for the game above!

What do you guys think of Shin Megami Tensei V? Does it make you excited to play another exciting RPG from Atlus, or are you tired of the series after the recent Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse? Let us know in the comments below!

Writing is half of my life. Video games make up the other half. I decided to put these two hobbies together and join Gamnesia back in 2015. I spend most of my time working at a retail store and paying off my student debt. When I'm not getting stressed about the thousands of dollars I owe my loan providers, I play tons of video games (which just puts me into more debt). I'm also currently writing a novel in what little spare time I have. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a while, but I don't want to talk about it until I have most of it completed. Any Gamnesia-related inquiries may be sent to [email protected] Feel free to follow my personal Twitter if you want (@Pindlo). I mostly just retweet things.
