Indie studio Yacht Club Games has a big hit on their hands with Shovel Knight. The retro-style platformer initially launched on Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, and PC, and it proved popular enough that it landed on Sony, Microsoft, and Amazon platforms as well. Yacht Club announced today that Shovel Knight has now sold over 1.2 million total copies across its various releases, including over 1 million digital sales.
Additionally, Yacht Club became the first third-party studio to team up with Nintendo to create their own Amiibo. The Shovel Knight Amiibo has also proven popular, selling over 180,000 units in less than three months. The figurine is still selling well enough that the North American distribution branch has ordered an additional 30,000 to sell.
