The SNES is often considered to be one of the greatest consoles of all time, and it comes as no surprise that Nintendo is well aware of that fact. With this in mind, the New Nintendo 3DS will begin featuring classic SNES titles, starting today with Pilotwings, Super Mario World, and F-Zero. These SNES games will feature a “Perfect Pixel Mode” that will allow you to play the game in its original resolution. Anyone who has plugged a SNES into an HD screen before will know just how fantastic this option is.

More SNES games will be released in the coming weeks in waves, with the first one on March 24th featuring
Super Mario Kart, EarthBound, and Donkey Kong Country, and the next on April 14th with The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past, Super Metroid, and Donkey Kong Country 2.

However, if you’re in Europe, your release schedule will look a little different. Starting with
Super Mario World and EarthBound today, the same games will be released on a weekly schedule, with Legend of Zelda and Super Metroid next week on the 10th, F-Zero and Super Mario Kart the week after on the 17th, and ending with the Donkey Kong Country games on the 24th.
