According to a section in Nintendo’s quarterly report, a pre-download feature is coming to the 3DS and Wii U. Pre-downloading allows you to download most of a game before its release date, so upon release, you can hop right in with minimal effort. This feature is nothing new to consoles, as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 can already do this, so it’s nice to see Nintendo catching up. Pre-downloading will be available for Wii U later this year with the release of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and will come to the 3DS in 2015.
