Splatoon fans have been looking forward to the game’s first Splatfest, which was scheduled to take place this weekend as a battle between cat and dog lovers; however, it looks like those plans will have to go on hold.

In a recent post on their Facebook page, Nintendo announced that this weekend’s Splatfest has been postponed. Nintendo stated that there were some matchmaking issues during the first Splatfest in Japan that caused long wait times and prevented players from joining matches. Therefore, the North American event has been postponed until the issue can be corrected.
