Not long after Kirby Star Allies launched to record sales numbers for the series, a free update to the game introduced the first round of unique new Dream Friends joining the roster of playable characters. Old franchise favorites Marx, Gooey, and Rick/Kine/Coo returned to the fold, leaving the door open for more friends and foes to appear in Kirby’s inaugural Switch adventure.
With that, a new Dream Friend has been officially revealed for the upcoming Wave 2, being none other than the leader of the Squeaks. The mousy treasure thief Daroach made his debut in Kirby: Squeak Squad (Mouse Attack in Europe) for the Nintendo DS, antagonizing Kirby when stealing his slice of strawberry shortcake and later unleashing the evil Dark Nebula upon Dream Land. The game is also readily available on the Wii U Virtual Console.
Daroach likely won’t be coming alone if an April datamine of the game is of any indication, with Dark Meta Knight and Adeleine expected to follow suit. No release date for Kirby Star Allies‘ Wave 2 of free DLC has been announced at this time.
Are you looking forward to playing as Daroach himself? How do you think his moveset will come together? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
