Back in the late 90’s, Rareware was working on their own separate project called Dinosaur Planet for Nintendo 64. The game then evolved into what we know as Star Fox Adventures after Nintendo decided to integrate it into the Star Fox universe. Two years ago, a fan project began on Tumblr that hopes to pay tribute to the original Dinosaur Planet game with an animated series.
The series is still in the early stages of production, but the project’s Tumblr page is chock full of some goodies. There is a bunch of concert art featured on the page, some of which I will showcase below. I also came across an audio file showcasing one of the compositions for the series and a couple of storyboards while perusing the site.
The team behind the project is really good at keeping the page updated and answering questions from curious fans. They are currently still in the process of casting voice actors as well as finding animators to assist on the project. The casting call for voice actors is taking place here, and it is an open call to anyone who has an account with the site.
I’m really excited about this project. Star Fox Adventures was the first console game I ever owned, and so I’m excited to get a glimpse at what it was originally supposed to be. What are your thoughts on the project? Do you plan on auditioning in their casting call? Leave us your thoughts in the comment section below!
