After numerous delays, Nintendo finally launched Star Fox Zero last month. The Wii U exclusive received mixed reviews prior to launch, and that translated into underwhelming sales at launch in Japan. The series hasn’t pulled in particularly impressive numbers since Star Fox 64, but as it turns out, Zero actually had historically poor sales at launch. A chart using data from popular Japanese publication Famitsu compares the launch sales of each entry in the franchise since Star Fox 64 (no launch data was provided for Star Fox on Super Nintendo), and Zero is in dead last, barely trailing Star Fox Command.
