This morning we discovered that the ESRB had rated Super Mario 64 DS for Wii U in North America, and it turns out that we won’t have to wait long to get it on our systems! Nintendo has officially listed the DS remake of the Nintendo 64 classic as launching on the Wii U Virtual Console tomorrow, August 25th, for $9.99. The game includes not only the original console experience, but it also adds a multiplayer mode, new minigames, and Luigi, Yoshi, and Wario as playable characters. If you’ve never had the chance to play this title before, now would certainly be a good chance!
“Mario, Luigi, and Wario set out for a party at Princess Peach’s castle but arrive to find it empty except for Yoshi. They soon discover that Bowser has stolen the Power Stars and imprisoned the Toads. Enter all of the castle paintings, and save the day! Then try out some action-packed minigames!” — Nintendo
The game is already available on the European and Japanese virtual consoles, so it’s great to see it finally coming to the American audience as well. Will you be picking it up tomorrow? Have you already played it on DS, and if so, what did you like most about the title? Let us know in the comments!
