Nintendo just released all of its financial information from the past year, and it’s full of incredible milestones. In addition to Breath of the Wild quickly becoming the highest-selling Zelda ever (excluding remakes), Nintendo has revealed that Super Mario Odyssey has sold an incredible 10.41 million units in just a few months, despite being exclusive to a young console with a relatively low install base.
This incredible sales figure means well over half of Switch owners already own Odyssey. It’s not yet the highest-selling 3D Mario of all time, but it could quickly claim that title. It currently trails Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy, which have sold just under 12 and 13 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is also nearing the 10 million mark. Despite being a re-release of last generation’s Mario Kart with some extra content, the Switch version of the game has sold 9.22 million copies in addition to the 8.42 million copies sold on Wii U. Splatoon 2‘s performance hasn’t been quite as monumental as Zelda or Mario, but at 6 million copies sold, it’s not doing too shabby.
In total, Nintendo reports that 12 games have eclipsed the one million sales mark on Nintendo Switch. This figure includes both first-party software (of which Nintendo lists nine games) and games released by third-party partners. Nintendo Switch has sold a combined 68.97 million units of software across all of its games.
