Giveaway: Take One Of Our 5,000 Keys For The Uncertain: Episode 1

This ain’t no contest, buddy – we’re literally giving these Steam keys away for The Uncertain: Episode 1 – The Last Quiet Day.

Do you get frustrated when you don’t win contests? Upset when someone else steals the prize you so desperately wanted? Do you shout to the heavens in anger when someone else is announced as the recipient of a prize? ComonGames understands, so they’re here to bring balance back to the world.

They’ve given us 5,000 copies of the acclaimed first episode of their series The Uncertain. To win, all you have to do is click below!

I’ll let developer ComonGames take it from here:

Imagine making moral choices in a world devoid of morality. Logic rules this world, and every decision is just a set of zeroes and ones. Most concepts take a whole new meaning, and some get completely abolished. Luckily reasonable beings, even if not human, always have a choice.

The Uncertain: Episode 1 – The Last Quiet Day is an episodic story-driven adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world. In the first episode you see it from the perspective of an engineering robot RT-217NP, who seems to be very curious about the human race, long extinct in wasting wars. Experience the mysterious vibe of each of carefully explored locations. Test your skills, solving diverse puzzles. Make fateful decisions and discuss intriguing matters to find out the whole truth being kept from you.

Key features:

  • Classic 3D Adventure with unique story
  • Beautiful graphics and immersive atmosphere
  • Original indie soundtrack
  • Made using NVIDIA GameWorks HBAO+, DoF, and FXAA technologies

It certainly seems humanity has a knack for always going extinct.

To get your hands on a key, all you have to do is use the widget below. Too easy. (Also maybe tell your friends because hoo boy we’ve got a lot of these codes to give out.)

Like what you played? ComonGames is developing Episode 2 – Light at the End, and they have taken to Kickstarter to get the project up and running. Show your support for the series by backing it to help see the episodic game to completion!

The Uncertain: Episode 1 – The Last Quiet Day is available now on Steam.

Contest: Win a Steam Copy of Colina: Legacy

We’re addicted to contests. Enter our latest one for Colina: Legacy to assist us in getting the help we need to get rid of these games.

I don’t know why y’all like these spooky-ass games so much. One minute you’re walking down a hallway having an apparently good time taking in the crappy old furniture and lack of natural lighting, and then bam! The ghost of your dead grandma’s parakeet knocks the chandelier down and scares the “clean” out of your pants.

But hey, who am I to judge? Come get some of the scares in Colina: Legacy for Steam!

Colina: Legacy

In this survival horror title, you play as Alex, who has just woken up in his grandmother’s home. Alone and confused, he must find an escape…before something finds him. You’ll use your wits, your flashlight, and not much else to fend off the terrors of the night. Will you finally discover your family secrets?

Game features include:

  • Escape Room of Terror — The design of Colina: Legacy was approached with escape rooms in mind. Challenging puzzles await Alex as he explores his grandmother’s house, but the puzzles aren’t the only thing that awaits him on his journey.
  • Return to Old-School Survival Horror — From the third person camera to the flashlight as your one true weapon, Colina: Legacy pays homage to the great survival horror games of the past while making a place for itself in the genre.
  • Stunning Visuals and Sound — While Colina: Legacy may have been developed by a very small team, the visuals and audio stand out in league with larger games. Colina: Legacy is a game to be experienced.

It’s a game to be experienced! Just not if you’re me. Because I’m too scared.

How to win

For your chance to soil a perfectly good pair of trousers, use the widget below to give us your name and email, and show a little bit of love for the hard-working folks here at Gamnesia. So please don’t spook them – they’re easily frightened.

We have 10 Steam keys to give away, courtesy of developer Chance6 Studios. We’ll randomly draw winners on Monday, October 1.

Colina: Legacy is available now on Steam. Check out Destructoid and PC Invasion for more chances to win!

BioWare is Holding a Contest to Offer Fans the Chance to Voice a Character in Mass Effect: Andromeda

BioWare is hosting a contest to give fans the opportunity to voice a character in the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda. Winners of the competition will be given an all-expenses-paid trip to one of BioWare’s studios in the United States, where they will perform in a professional recording session and will be given a small role in the final game.

To enter the contest, fans must record themselves reading one of the sample scripts found on this website and email their final recordings to [email protected] Only legal residents of the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand may enter. According to the contest guidelines, all applications must be turned in before September 28th, 2016 at 6:59 AM Greenwich Mean Time, and applicants will hear back from the company on November 30th.

BioWare has provided two separate scripts that contestants may read in their auditions. In the first script, the contestant plays the role of Jordan Tate, a “smart and talented indie documentarian” who wants to make a film that gives outsiders a real perspective of life on Andromeda. In the second script, contestants play the role of an unnamed mercenary who discusses the quality of life on Andromeda with one of his colleagues. The company does not encourage the use of props, costumes, or accents in the audition; although using them won’t disqualify a candidate, BioWare will not take any of those aspects into account while judging an application. The only thing that will be judged is the quality of a contestant’s acting and the way their regular speaking voice fits in the Mass Effect universe.

What do you guys think? Are you planning on applying to this contest? This certainly seems like a nice opportunity for any aspiring voice actors, and it’s a kind gesture on BioWare’s behalf to give fans the chance to take part in Mass Effect: Andromeda. Good luck!

Guinness World Record Set By Far Cry 4 Contest Winner

As part of promotion for Far Cry 4, Ubisoft held a contest that took gamers to the top of the world. Seeking out the best Far Cry players, they selected gamer Will Cruz as the winner, and brought him on a journey to the tip of Mount Everest, where he and a group of 15 others played Far Cry 4 at 18,560 feet above sea level. Recording this instance, he now holds the record for “Highest Altitude Videogame Console Session”

While not an incredibly important record to set, it’s strange, awesome, and opens up for competition. Hopefully we’ll see somebody free fall from the stratosphere with an Oculus Rift in a few years. But for now, enjoy your victory, Will!
