Famitsu Rates Super Smash Bros. 3DS 37/40

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is just a few days away from launching in Japan, and the reviews are starting to roll in. Japanese publication Famitsu has released its weekly reviews, and Smash is the highest-scoring game of the week. For those unaware of how Famitsu operates, unlike most publications they don’t give a game just one review. Four different reviewers tackle each game with a score of 1-10 for a total of 40 possible points. The first ever handheld Smash has been well-received, scoring a 37/40.

Here’s the rest of the scores from Famitsu this week:

  • Super Smash Bros. for 3DS (3DS) – 10/9/9/9
  • Daylight (PS4) – 8/6/8/8
  • Escape Adventure: The Black Fog of Demise (3DS) – 7/7/8/7
  • Aqua Moto Racing 3D (3DS) – 5/6/7/6

Horror Game Daylight Delayed To The End of April

If you are aware of PC first person shooters, you are familiar with Zombie Studios, those were the guys that made games like Delta Force: Task Force Dagger, Blacklight Retribution, and Saw II: Flesh and Blood. Now that I got you caught up with a little of their development history, if you are a first person horror gamer, Daylight
is on your radar. You were probably hoping to play this next week, but
unfortunately, you will have to wait until the end of this month to get
your hands on it.

Here is what the dev team had to say about the delay.

“Let’s not mince words, First news you need to know about
Daylight is that we had to delay the release date by several weeks. Here’s the thing: the way Daylight
is developed is completely different because of its procedural
generation. In a lot of ways it really helped the team by streamlining
the environment creation, but it’s taken extra time to make sure all the
scare cues are properly implemented for maximum player effect.”

Daylight will be coming out on April 29th for the PC and PlayStation 4.

Atlus is Publishing Zombie Studios’ Daylight for PlayStation 4

Atlus has confirmed via GTTV that the company has picked up the publishing rights to Zombie Studios’ first-person horror game Daylight. The scares are randomly generated, so the player will never be prepared for a scare.

Here’s the game’s official description.

“Waking up in an abandoned hospital with only your cell phone for illumination, you explore the institution’s dark criminal past as you attempt to escape. In Daylight no two experiences are the same, and it is best played alone in the dark.

Daylight introduces gamers to a procedurally generated world that replicates the horrifying nature of Daylight over and over again, but creates a different environment for each new game. Each time the player begins a new game, they experience a new world with new content and encounters; from the layout of the building and the things they seek to the events they encounter, it is never the same experience twice.”

Below are screenshots. Above is an E3 trailer. Don’t get too scared now.

Daylight arrives in 2014 on PlayStation 4. It is a download-only title on PSN.
