More Nintendo Switch Systems Should Be Available at Toys R Us Later This Week

Toys R Us will reportedly be restocking the Nintendo Switch in stores throughout the U.S. on Friday, May 19th. The company itself recommends anyone interested in the Nintendo console to show up before their store opens in order to have the best chance of getting a Switch.

As the Switch will still only be offered in limited quantities at Toys R Us locations Friday, the high demand for the Switch and the Big N’s supply issues will likely continue to be a problem for some. Nintendo even shipped out more Switch units than they had initially expected to sell in March, but it turns out more than 2.74 million people worldwide want the system dearly.

Have you been able to get your hands on a Nintendo Switch? Or has it still eluded your grasp? When do you think Nintendo Switch supply will finally meet demand?

Toys R Us Will Be Restocking the Nintendo Switch for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Launch

Toys R Us has announced via Twitter that their stores will be restocking the Nintendo Switch on Friday, April 28th, to generate hype for the launch of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the system. New stock for the system will be in limited quantities and available in-store only, warns Toys R Us, so it would be best to call ahead to see if your local store will be picking up more Nintendo Switch consoles.

This news comes along with an announcement that says more Switch units will come to Best Buy stores on the same date. After nearly two months of severe demand from consumers for Nintendo’s newest console, it’s great to hear that some stores will have more Nintendo Switch consoles in stock for the release of the highly anticipated Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Coupled with
rumors that Amazon will also be restocking the Nintendo Switch next month, there’s hope yet for fans who still want to get their hands on the Switch.

Will you be picking up the Switch one way or another? Or will you continue to wait for a price drop or a game to be sold as a pack-in with the system? Let us know what your plans are in the comments below!

Update: The Nintendo Switch Will Be Restocked at Best Buy Later This Week

Update: We learned after publishing the original article that this rumor has been confirmed true by Best Buy.

Original: Nintendo’s newest console has suffered the same fate as a number of recent projects by the Big N, namely having too little supply to meet the demand of the public. The Nintendo Switch does seem to be making a bit of a comeback in the next few weeks, though. We just learned that Amazon will be getting a restock of the consoles next month, but according to another rumor, the Nintendo Switch is getting restocked at Best Buy stores even sooner!

As per cheapassgamer, Best Buy locations are planning for a store-wide restock of the Nintendo Switch this upcoming Friday, April 28th. We would certainly hope that everyone who wants the Nintendo Switch can satiate their gaming desires this week; however, as of yet there is no word on how substantial the restock will be, so it’s probably better to assume that stores will only have a few units each, if that. You’ll want to get to Best Buy bright and early, just to be on the safe side!

Do you plan on pouncing on this opportunity Best Buy is providing? Or are you biding your time for the Nintendo Switch? Let us know in the comments!

Fire Emblem Fates’ Special Edition is Getting Restocked in Australia and New Zealand

Fire Emblem Fates released in Japan last year, and Americans received the title back in February, but fans in PAL regions won’t get it until late May. Australia and New Zealand are included in that region, but Nintendo is giving fans in the land down under a special gift. Preorders for the game’s special edition, which comes with all three paths—Birthright, Conquest, and early access to the otherwise DLC-only Revelation—have already sold out, but Nintendo has now promised a second round of preorders for them. No word was given on when these preorders will open, and there’s no telling if the PAL regions in Europe will see a restock, but we’ll keep you informed if we learn more.

The Splatoon Amiibo are Getting Restocked in Japan Soon

If you’re still looking to snag a Splatoon Amiibo, you may get your chance soon, if you live in Japan or you’re willing to import. Nintendo has announced via Twitter that they will be restocking all three Splatoon Amiibo figures in Japan. The Inkling boy and Inkling girl will be available on July 9, with the Inkling squid following later this month. The three-pack including all of the figures will not be available, however.

While the Splatoon Amiibo were not quite as hard to find as some of their Super Smash Bros. counterparts, and this restock is currently limited to Japan, it does show that Nintendo is still making an effort to keep Amiibo in stock after their initial shipments.

That’s just one writer’s opinion, though. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

Daily Delib: With so Many Scalpers, Does it Matter if Nintendo Restocks Amiibo?

With the coming and going of E3, many of us have been staring at nothing but Amiibo when watching Nintendo. While watching their functionality is exciting, just watching is not something that we want to do forever. To experience our favorite characters in a real, tactile way is something that we have hungered for since we started playing Nintendo games. There’s only one thing standing in our way: scalpers.

With all the less morally inclined folks out there, it seems that Amiibo have been having a hard time find their way into deserving people’s hands. What the real question is now seems to be: what’s the point in restocking, if only the scalpers will get to them anyway? I don’t know about you, but I can’t afford a figurine that’s might cost upwards of $80-$100 or more on eBay because my local Best Buys/GameStops/Walmarts/Targets have all ran out! Should Nintendo keep attempting to restock Amiibo for us, or is this a fruitless war never to be won? Speak out for what you believe in the comments!

Nintendo is Resubmitting Nearly Every Rare Amiibo for an Entire Month of Production in North America

Good new, Amiibo hunters! Nintendo’s safety website has updated with CPSIA certificates for a large number of Amiibo, including many rare figures, such as Rosalina and Luma, Lucario, Villager, and Captain Falcon, among others. Each figure is indicated to be receiving an additional month of production. While it’s important to note that we don’t know what that time will translate to in terms of the number of figures that get produced, it is a promising sign that Nintendo is trying to address the shortages. With this news, there’s a good chance that Nintendo will officially announce restocks at some point during E3.

Are you looking forward to these restocks? Leave a comment below.

Multiple Rare Amiibo Will be Restocked in the Next Few Days

While Nintendo may not know how to completely resolve the stock difficulties associated with Amiibo, they appear to be taking a more active role. According to Nintendo’s Facebook page, fans of the elusive figures can expect to see hard to find characters such as Marth, Meta Knight, and Ike restocked in limited quantities in the “next few days”. There has been no specification as to which retailers will be receiving the figures (except for Meta Knight: a Best Buy exclusive), and Nintendo has encouraged fans to contact or visit their local stores to check for these figures as they come in.

Some GameStop Stores Have Started Restocking Marth Amiibo

Some relief is finally coming to those of you suffering from Amiibo woes. The Marth Amiibo restock, which was announced a while back, has finally begun. However, the restock is happening at a very slow and steady pace.

Amazon has been taking orders at very brief and intermittent periods of time, and now the Amiibo has started appearing in a few select GameStop stores around the country. The Amiibo is not available on GameStop’s website at the time of this writing, but you can use their inventory tracker to check and see if any of the stores in your area have it for sale.
