TEKKEN producer Katsuhiro Harada took the stage at The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2015 Grand Finals in Tokyo to announce that Akuma from Street Fighter will be a playable fighter in TEKKEN 7: Fated Retribution. Fated Retribution is the highly anticipated update to TEKKEN 7 arcade, and rather than simply announcing Akuma’s appearance, Harada chose to reveal him in a brand new trailer. The silhouette originally seen in the dojo with Kazumi during the story trailer of TEKKEN 7 turns out to actually be Akuma, rather than Heihachi as originally thought.

This new trailer shows that Akuma’s presence is a rather important aspect of the story in
TEKKEN 7, as it reveals Kazumi was talking to Akuma in the original TEKKEN 7 trailers from the start. TEKKEN 7: Fated Retribution will feature not only Akuma as a selectable fighter, but also new stages and the new characters and costumes displayed in the trailer. It is unclear if this new content will be released on consoles when it launches, but stay tuned to Gamnesia for further coverage.

What do you think of this new content? Could this possibly be the beginning of the
TEKKEN X Street Fighter crossover that we have always wanted? Let us know in the comments!
