Fable Legends is a free-to-play RPG/RTS game currently being developed for Xbox One and Windows 10. The game has been in closed beta since October, but it was recently announced that they will be extending the beta and inviting 100,000 more players to join the fray. And while that’s all well and good, it also means that the open beta will be pushed back up till the spring of 2016.

The developer, Lionhead Studios, explained the reason for the delay in a blog post, in which the following was mentioned:

“To be honest, we didn’t anticipate just how big Fable Legends is becoming. It’s simply the most ambitious game we’ve ever created at Lionhead. We’ve built a unique and innovative multiplayer experience combining RPG and RTS gameplay which allows you to play, and use your gear seamlessly, across Xbox One and Windows 10. On top of this, we’ve built a beautiful new world full of grand stories and adventures. And it’s taking more time than we thought.”
