Nintendo was definitely not done revealing new games at their Nintendo Spotlight for E3 2017. Along with Metroid: Samus Returns, Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido was announced for the Nintendo 3DS during the Nintendo Treehouse this past week.

As you can see in the trailer and Nintendo Treehouse footage below, Sushi Striker looks like it will be one of the weirder Nintendo releases for 2018. Indieszero, the developers who spearheaded the NES Remix games, wanted to try something different in the puzzle genre.

The game will be played by trying to wrack up combos through the touchscreen. Plates of sushi are spread out among three conveyor belts, and it is the player’s job to create the biggest stacks of food possible and distract opponents by throwing plates at them. Companions that join you throughout the sushi-inspired adventure seem to add more wacky character to the experience as Sushi Striker progresses.

Is this a game that interests you? Do you think this is a good use of Indieszero’s time as a developer? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Hey all! I've been a gamer since I was three. I'm one of those people with gaming so ingrained in them that watching my father play Super Mario 64 is actually my first memory I can recall. I love writing too! I'm writing an original fantasy series that takes place in another universe; it may take some inspiration from some of my favorite franchises. I've been a journalist for a few years, have worked on local and national teams, and have garnered experience assigning stories, editing, writing, interviewing, hosting a television series, running a YouTube channel, and doing other stuff that's more fun to mention in conversation. Bios can drag on. Anyway, I'm super stoked to be a part of the Gamnesia team! Thanks for having me!
