The Last Guardian has been in development for what seems like an eternity, beginning as a PlayStation 3 project and virtually vanishing from the public eye before resurfacing on PlayStation 4. During E3 back in June, Sony announced that The Last Guardian would finally launch on October 25th, but the wait has just been extended by six weeks.
In a blog post, PlayStation boss Shuhei Yoshida explained that the development team ran into more bugs than expected. It was a tough decision, but the development team opted to delay the game in order to “ensure that The Last Guardian delivers on the experience that the game’s creators have envisioned.” Fans have been waiting for years, and creator Fumito Ueda and his team want to make sure that long wait is rewarded with a polished game. The Last Guardian will now launch on December 6th.
