Nearly eight months have passed since its Japanese release, and now, only six more sleeps remain until the highly anticipated Fire Emblem Fates launches in North America. With the game split into separate Birthright and Conquest versions, players will soon have to make a choice between two diverging stories — either their Avatar remains with the royal Nohr family that raised them, or sides with their Hoshido birth family, from which they were separated as a child — all while the two kingdoms are at war with one another.

Luckily, Nintendo aims to make that decision easier with a new
Life on the Front Lines trailer, introducing the main cast, the support system, and some of the character classes unique to both sides.

Fire Emblem Fates will be released on Friday, February 19th, for the Nintendo 3DS in North America, but no release date is currently set in stone for Europe. A third version of Fates with its own unique storyline, Revelations, comes with both Birthright and Conquest on a single cartridge in the special edition at launch. It will otherwise be available on the eShop three weeks later on March 10th.

That being said, which side of this family feud will you be picking up next week? Or are you one of the lucky few who managed to preorder the special edition while supplies lasted? Let us know in the comments!
