Developer Creative Assembly announced the next installment in the Total War franchise today. Total War: Warhammer was unveiled to the world in an amazing cinematic trailer which featured many of the races of the Warhammer world.

The game will feature real-time battles and turn-based map campaigns. Several of the
Warhammer races are listed as playable factions, including Orcs & Goblins, the Empire, Dwarves, and the Vampire Counts. The forces of Chaos also make an appearance in the trailer, although they have not been listed as being playable (although they could be added as an NPC faction). Dragons, Ogres, and siege warfare also come into play, although it isn’t clear yet how they will be incorporated into the gameplay.

Two standalone expansions have also been announced, so we could see some of the other races from the
Warhammer universe make an appearance. Perhaps the High Elves, Skaven, or Lizardmen could be added later on?

The game will be released on PC, Mac, and Steam OS.
