In 2015, Nintendo announced that they had partnered with Universal Studios to create a Nintendo theme park, and back in March we reported that Universal Studios Japan planned on spending $350 million to build Nintendo’s attractions on the left side of the park’s main gate. According to Twitter user Dr. Serkan Toto, Japanese newspaper Sankei now says Nintendo Land may cost over $500 million, which exceeds the Harry Potter area ($400 million) at Universal Studios Japan. Sankei said that the Nintendo park would “exceed” Harry Potter and the Nintendo area will be open by the 2020 Olympics. It was also revealed that Nintendo Land will possibly be “officially unveiled” to the public before the end of the year.
2) Sankei says costs are expected to reach US$500 million+, more than the US$400 million for the Harry Potter area in that theme park.
