The Nintendo World Championships of E3 2015 are planned to be a return to the championships from back in the 90’s, where tons of gamers would compete at various Nintendo games to be named the Nintendo World Champion.

Nintendo has revealed the name of the venue where they will be holding the event and, ironically, the Nintendo World Championships will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Essentially, one of Nintendo’s biggest press events in a long time will be held at a theater that is completely covered in propaganda for one of their greatest rivals.

The Microsoft Theater, formerly known as the Nokia Theater LA Live, has been the home of many of Nintendo’s E3 conferences in the past, as well as last year’s Smash Bros. Invitational. However, because of Microsoft’s recent purchase of the theater, it now holds the Microsoft logo at the front and is covered in posters and logos for the company.

What do you think? Isn’t it ironic that the World Championships will be there, of all places? Let us know in the comments below!
