Developed by High Voltage Software, The Conduit was a first-person-shooter released exclusively on the Wii back in 2009. The game was received warmly by critics and gamers alike, and was partly promoted as a game to attract core gamers to the Nintendo Wii.

Come four years later, and the game is seeing a re-release, this time to Tegra-powered Android Devices. The game is slated to be available by the end of March this year, and the download is even free. The catch? You’re going to have to fork over some dollars to play beyond the first two missions, but even then, it’s only $5 for the full game.

The big blow here comes from High Voltage Software’s Chief Operation Officer, Eric Nofsinger, who claims that the game looks better than the original:

“The Conduit HD looks even better than the original! With the power of
the Tegra chipset, we are finally able to deliver console-quality
visuals on mobile devices.”

While its not exactly hard to out-perform most of the graphics seen on the Wii, especially with the HD capacity it lacks, its kind of sad to see a mere smartphone playing a full console game that isn’t even four years old yet. The Wii U, PS4 and Xbox 720 need to make sure they can stay well ahead of the phone market.

Here are the portable game’s features according to TegraZone:
