The ever-popular Pokémon franchise has been captivating audiences for nearly 20 years now (February 27th marks the 20th anniversary of the original games’ launch on Game Boy), and The Pokémon Company is celebrating in a lot of big ways, including airing a commercial during the Super Bowl for the very first time. A 30 second commercial during the Super Bowl cost $5 million this year, but it looks like that was money well spent.

Pokémon‘s “Train On” video ranks as one of the most popular Super Bowl commercials this year, and the extended version of the commercial (which was debuted two weeks earlier) has amassed over 18 million views. Additionally, even though the commercial was available to watch online long before it aired on TV, it generated 41,000 social media interactions last night, with an 88% rate of positive mentions. The commercial also has a like-dislike ratio on YouTube of over 106,000 to less than 4,000.
