Earlier this week, we learned that Paramount Pictures had cast Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic and Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik in their upcoming movie adaptation of Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog series. Now more casting announcements for the movie have been made, with Paramount casting two veterans from Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe in the film.

According to a report from Variety, Adam Pally and Neal McDonough have both been cast in the Sonic film. Pally played Gary the Cameraman in 2013’s Iron Man 3, but he is probably more well known for his roles in Happy Endings and The Mindy Project. He will be playing a cop alongside James Marsden’s character and Sonic as they face off against the villainous Dr. Robotnik in San Fransisco.

McDonough starred as Dum Dum Dugan in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger. He is also probably more well known for his small-screen roles, appearing in The CW’s DC shows Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow as the recurring villain Damien Darhk, as well as his antagonistic role in USA’s Suits. However, McDonough’s role in the film has yet to be announced, so it’s not currently known whether or not he will play a hero or villain, or if he’ll play a large role in the movie.

So, what do you guys think? Are you looking forward to the Sonic the Hedgehog movie? Do you think it can break the trend of traditionally sub-par video game movies? Sound off in the comments!
