Wavedash Games, a studio whose members were behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl‘s beloved Project M mod, has announced a fighting game of their own, just two years after their modding project was shuttered out of fear of legal troubles with Nintendo. Icons: Combat Arena, revealed at EVO 2017, is a game that’s very similar to Super Smash Bros. with an original cast of characters.

In Icons, you can perform some familiar moves from past Super Smash Bros. games like off stage fighting, wave-dashing, and edge hanging. The characters even offer some similar movesets to some popular characters from Super Smash Bros.

The game will have a free-to-play open beta launching this fall, and Wavedash Games has promised to listen very closely to their fans before the launch of the beta, stating that they’ll be making any heavily requested changes in the coming months.

What do you think of this game? Is it too similar to Super Smash Bros., or do you think it stands on its own? Hit the comments below and be sure to check out the trailer above!
