The touch controls for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset launch on December 6th, 2016, according to the Oculus official Twitter account. The existing headset costs $599, and the added touch controls will sell for $199, so the combined price for the full set will be nearly $800.
The Oculus Touch has been described as the “missing piece” in virtual reality. It’ll give players the ability to control things in the virtual world with their own hands, with their in-game character directly imitating all of their actions.
Preorders for the Oculus Touch will open on October 10th. The Oculus Earphones, the new earbuds that go along with the Oculus Rift, will be available for preorder on the same day, and will cost $79 at launch.
