During the three-month-long lifespan of the Nintendo Switch so far, no specific news has surfaced about a Virtual Console for Nintendo’s latest system. Although some were concerned that the Classic Game Selection of the upcoming Nintendo Switch Online service would be a replacement for the Virtual Console, Nintendo has since come out and stated that it will not be the case. However, a spokesperson at Nintendo did not have good news for fans eager to get their hands on Virtual Console titles on the Switch as soon as possible.

The Nintendo spokesperson mentioned that a schedule for selling Virtual Console titles (from unspecified platforms to boot) is “still undecided.” While there seems to be little doubt that a Virtual Console will debut on the Switch much like it did on the Wii, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS, there remains no official statement on when that might happen.

Do you think we will learn when the Nintendo Switch Virtual Console will come at Nintendo’s upcoming E3 Spotlight? Or will it skip out on 2017 completely just like the Switch’s paid online service is going to? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Hey all! I've been a gamer since I was three. I'm one of those people with gaming so ingrained in them that watching my father play Super Mario 64 is actually my first memory I can recall. I love writing too! I'm writing an original fantasy series that takes place in another universe; it may take some inspiration from some of my favorite franchises. I've been a journalist for a few years, have worked on local and national teams, and have garnered experience assigning stories, editing, writing, interviewing, hosting a television series, running a YouTube channel, and doing other stuff that's more fun to mention in conversation. Bios can drag on. Anyway, I'm super stoked to be a part of the Gamnesia team! Thanks for having me!
