With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild coming out in a week and a half, fans are bound to be more excited than ever before. However, this period is bound to be filled with spoilers thanks to some hackers. From the looks of things, an ISO file (compressed game files found on the game disc) of the Wii U version was made available through a hacking program yesterday. Though these files were encrypted to start with, they didn’t take long to decrypt, and now their contents are floating around the internet.
The information leak appears to have started on 4chan, but it has spread like wildfire across other public sites such as Reddit, Twitter, and NeoGAF, among many others. Included in this leak are various assets from Breath of the Wild, including plot details, a complete list of items and weapons, and even the title screen art. It appears that some of these leaks have been verified, while the validity of others remains up in the air. Needless to say, though, if you want the game to remain a secret, tread carefully over the next week and a half until release (or even longer, as it’s bound to be a hot topic for a while after it comes out).
