The Fallout and the Elder Scrolls series are two very iconic franchises, and they helped to define the open-world genre as we know it now. As such, their director, Todd Howard, is getting the Lifetime Achievement at the Game Developers Choice Awards on March 16th. Another reason that the award is going to Howard is his role in pioneering player-developed mods in games.
Howard might be able to rake in even more glory at the event, as two of his games, Fallout 4 and Fallout Shelter, have been nominated for various awards. Fallout Shelter has a chance to win the Best Mobile/Handheld Game Award, while Fallout 4 is up for the Best Design Award, the Best Technology Award, and last but not least: the Game of the Year Award.
