There are quite a few niche Japanese games that are never localized, but it is rare for one of them to get a significant Western following. Touhou is a franchise of bullet hell shooters and fighting games that has broken that barrier, and the fact that none of the games require the ability to read Japanese has significantly helped in that regard. Unfortunately, legally acquiring any of the games is an expensive and slightly convoluted process. Luckily for fans of the series, though, that is going to change with Touhou 14: Double Dealing Character.

Playism Games, a company that specializes in localizing Japanese games, is bringing over
Touhou 14 at an as-of-now undisclosed date. They are closely working with Team Shanghai Alice (the developers of the franchise) to bring a faithful adaptation to as wide of an audience as possible. The games aren’t for everyone, of course, but the blistering difficulty and catchy music are certainly attractive prospects for a large crowd.

Hey. The name's William, and I write for Gamnesia. Although, honestly, writing is a bit of a stretch of the word - in all reality, it's more of "put together a thing every few days as a payment to stay in this one chat." You can contact me at a few different places, but it's whatever.
